2023: Group advises Christians on candidates to vote

Ahead of next Saturday’s presidential election, the Christians Professional Forum of Nigeria (CPFN) has told Nigerians to ensure they vote for the most competent candidate.
The group also warned one of the G-5 Governors against luring Christians into voting for a particular candidate ahead of next Saturday’s presidential election.
Track News reports that the main contenders for the presidential race are Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The group said this in a meeting in Abuja where it discussed matters arising towards a peaceful, free and fair 2023 general elections.,
CPFN, in a statement, signed by Evang Paul D. Keneth, President, Christian Professionals Forum of Nigeria said Christians across the country must henceforth suspend all political engagement with one of the G5 Governors.
The group slammed the Governor of Rivers State for desperately projecting a particular candidate on the people for his selfish interest.
“We have privileged information that the Governor is sharing a huge amount of money to leaders of religious organisations to show his support for the APC candidate,” the group alleged.
“Nigerians must be informed to make an intelligent decision on who becomes the next President. It is not about sentiments or media propaganda.
“We must come out to vote for the most competent and more experienced candidate
