Champions League: Ancelotti confirms player to play against Liverpool

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that Dani Carvajal is going to feature in his team’s squad to face Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie on Tuesday.
Real Madrid will face Liverpool at Anfield on February 21 in a repeat of the 2022 Champions League final, where Ancelotti sealed another European title.
However, Los Blancos’ last 16 meeting with the Premier League giants has been impacted by injury concerns for Ancelotti, as he aims to retain the trophy this year.
Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema is expected to be fit in time to travel with the squad, but there are major doubts over midfield stars Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni.
One of the returning players will be Carvajal after coming off the bench in Real Madrid’s La Liga 2-0 away win against Osasuna over the weekend.
“Carvajal is going to play at Anfield”, Ancelotti stated in a post-match interview with Marca after Real Madrid’s La Liga win over Osasuna.
