Court of Appeal constitutes Lagos governorship, legislative elections tribunal
The Governorship Election Tribunal and National/State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal for the 2023 polls have been formed in Lagos State.
The Secretary of the Tribunal, Aminu A. Ahmad announced the constitution in a notification on Tuesday.
Court of Appeal President, Justice M. B. Dongban-Mensem set up the panels pursuant to the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Electoral Act, 2022.
The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem O. Alogba has followed up on Justice Dongban-Mensem’s action.
The CJ approved the use of Rosaline Omotoso Courthouse in Ikeja as the venue for the two tribunals, Ahmad disclosed.
He informed the general public that the registry/secretariat is now open.
The tribunals will hear cases that may arise from the governorship, state and federal legislative elections
