Wike’s Response When Asked If He Will Accept An Offer From Tinubu To Be His Minister

Following the surprising performance of the APC in the just concluded election, there are currently insinuation that Wike worked for Tinubu’s success in exchange for the position of a Minister.
During an interview session earlier today with correspondents of Channels TV, Wike was asked if he would accept to become a Minister under the incoming Tinubu’s administration. Replying, Wike stated that it is still too early to talk about appointments and again, he is not in the party of the incoming government.
He said: “No, we have not gotten to that level. I’m not in their party, I don’t know what they want to do. They’ve not told me I’m competent, nobody has told me anything. There is nothing like speculation in politics. The time I invited Peter Obi to come and commission project, why were there no speculations. Just because he is President-elect, there are now speculations just because I invited him to come and commission project.”
