KOGI 2023: For 32 years we have not produced a Governor. Are we Slave? Are we conquered?- Senator Adeyemi

Ahead of the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, a member of the Senate representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Smart Adeyemi has made a case for his senatorial district to produce the next Governor of Kogi State.
Speaking in an interview on Trust TV, Senator Adeyemi claimed they are not slaves as they have not produced a Governor in the last 32 years. He added that the people of his senatorial district have reached a resolution that they will only support a candidate from the zone to be the next Governor.
His words, “the Kogi West leaders have met, the women have met, the professionals from Kogi west have met that non of us will vote for any candidate that is not from the West. We are not slaves, we are not conquered. This is our resolution as a people.
For 32 years we have not produced a Governor. Are we slaves? Are we conquered? When Sardauna was premier of Northern region, Sardauna was able to govern the whole of the Northern region peacefully because of one principle which Sardauna implanted in the heart of every Northerner today and that is the sense of fairness.”
