EPL: Ndidi under fire after Man City’s victory over Leicester
Former Chelsea and Arsenal Women’s striker, Karen Carney, has branded midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s performance in Leicester City’s Premier League 3-1 defeat on Saturday a ‘nightmare’.
Ndidi’s handball led to Man City’s second goal – a penalty scored by Erling Haaland.
The referee didn’t initially award a penalty to Man City but changed his decision after he was told to go to the monitor by the Video Assistant Referee, VAR.
But Carney was not pleased with Ndidi’s display against Man City.
“He [Ndidi] had a bit of a nightmare the whole game, to be honest,” Carney told Premier League Productions.
“At least I don’t know what he is thinking. He is there, one-on-one with [Jack] Grealish.
“He knows he’s going to get to the byline, a cross is coming in. As soon as Jack crossed it, I think we all said that is a penalty.
“His arm [Ndidi’s] clearly hit it. That is a blatant handball. To be fair, Grealish should have had one before this,” Carney added.
Ndidi has been in and out of the Leicester City starting lineup since the season started because of injury or loss of form
