Zone 9 Police headquarters Umuahia gets new AIG
Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Mamman Sandra has assumed duty as the new officer in charge of Zone 9, Police Headquarters in Umuahia, capital of Abia State.
Track news learnt that Sandra is the 22nd AIG of the zone. He took over from AIG Isaac Akinmoyede who has recently retired after 35 years of public service.
Sandra, from Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, enlisted in the Nigeria Police on 3rd March 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The Police Zonal Public Relations Officer, DSP Iheanatu Bruno Chukwudera who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Umuahia said Sandra holds LLB Honors in Law from the University of Maiduguri and a Grade II Teachers Certificate from the Teachers’ Training College, Potiskum.
He is a fellow of Defence College and also attended the Nigerian Law School in 1988.
He has attended several courses including Advance Detectives Course (London), Anti-Money Laundering Course (Cyprus) Citizenship and Leadership Training, Shere Hills (Jos).
The AIG, before now has served the police in many tasking capacities. He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) as well as the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).
