EPL: I feel sorry for two Arsenal players – Carragher
Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has admitted he felt sorry for two Arsenal players, Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes, after Manchester City defeated the Gunners 4-1 at the Etihad.
Holding and Magalhaes were unable to cope with the pair of Man City duo Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne on April 26 at Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne scored a brace, while Haaland and John Stones scored one goal each as Holding scored a consolation goal for Mikel Arteta’s side.
However, Carragher believes Holding and Magalhaes did not get enough protection from their teammates against Pep Guardiola’s side.
“But for me, in terms of Holding and Gabriel, I will throw it to you [the fan on the show] about Arsenal, but as a centre-back watching that, I actually felt for them,” Carragher said on The Overlap (via HITC).
“I don’t think they got anywhere near enough protection.”
