Prioritize youth inclusion in government – Group to Niger Gov-elect
Youths in Niger State have tasked the incoming administration to prioritize youth inclusion in governance, decrying the alleged exclusion by the outgoing government.
The call was made in a communique issued by the Youths Advocacy Group of the Niger South Senatorial district and signed by the chairman Drafting Committee, Suleiman Danjuma Usama.
The group claimed youths had been neglected by the current government, despite the significant roles they played in ensuring its success.
The group said, “we are calling on the incoming administration to prioritize youth inclusiveness in governance by actively seeking to involve young people who are highly educated, talented, experienced, and morally upright to contribute to the efficient and effective running of government when given the opportunity in administrative roles”.
They attributed the neglect in the completion of the Minna-Bida road, saying, “the road has become a death trap and a hindrance to economic activities in Niger South and the state at large due to politics of sentiment and zonal suppression that have been allowed to overshadow the development of the state”.
“We are urging the incoming government to prioritize the security of the state and take proactive measures to address the current security challenges”.
