Police Arrest 59 Male Suspects, 94 Female Commercial Sex Workers In Delta

Police operatives on routine stop-and-search duty, in a show of force, arrested 59 male suspects and 94 suspected female commercial sex workers at Evwreni, East-West Road, and other black spots in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State
The police also recovered three pump-action guns, one locally made cut-to-size gun, one dagger, 10 live cartridges, one suspected stolen unregistered Toyota Venza, and an unregistered Mercedes Benz from the suspects.
Also recovered from the suspects are a Peugeot car with registration number KJA 98 GE, nine cups of Loud, codeine syrup, sachets of Swinol, 20 capsules of Tramadol, and 31 wraps of weed suspected to be cannabis.
The Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to TrackNews
He said: “The 94 commercial sex workers have been charged in court alongside some of the male suspects, while others have been transferred to the command headquarters for further investigation.”
According to Edafe, the arrests were made by the Delta State Police Command’s Operations Department, SIB, Dragon Patrol, Safer Highway Patrol, Raiders, CP D-Coy Squad, and the Rapid Response Squad, RRS.
Some of the suspects, he affirmed, were arrested based on credible intelligence reports after the raids of identified criminal rendezvous across Ughelli North Local Government Area.
