According to a news that was published by the Leadership paper Online this morning, it was reported that the House of Representatives speakership front runners, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase and Hon. Murktar Aliyu Betara, yesterday, Sunday evening, rejected offers to be made Ministers in Tinubu’s cabinet, in exchange for their aspirations to lead the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
It was reported that it was Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, that visited the duo last evening and offered them the ministerial slot over their Speakership ambition but, they rejected it.
It was made known that a credible source, confided in Leadership correspondent, while speaking said that, “Yesterday evening, Gbajabiamila visited Wase, Betara and offered them ministerial slot but, they rejected it. He visited them separately, and offered to intercede on their behalf for them to be appointed Ministers, if they accept the adoption of Tajudeen Abbas as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
However, more information made it known that, it was not immediately clear if, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, was acting on the instruction of the president-elect, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has remained silent since the controversial adoption of Abbas was made public through a text message sent out by an unknown person.
