Comedian, SeyiLaw, has defended the Yoruba heritage, stating he’d rather be a beggar in the midst of his tribesmen than be crowned a king among foreigners.

The entertainer, who declared support for the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during campaigns and joined thousands of others to celebrate his victory in the February 25 presidential poll, has continued to attract disparaging remarks for his choice of candidate by the oppositions, particularly the ‘Obidients’.

However, the comedian who has remained unfazed, claimed that his support for Tinubu was because of ‘stomach infrastructure’, defended his cultural and traditional institutions.

His response followed his reaction to the criticisms against the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi who recently urged supporters of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to sheathe their swords and support Tinubu in the overall interest of the country.

The foremost monarch spoke in Lagos while hosting a delegation from Kenyan President, William Ruto at his Lagos residence where he noted irrespective of party affiliations, Nigerians should support the incoming administration after its inauguration on May 29.

SeyiLaw tweeted: “If you think defending my heritage, culture, traditions, and traditional institutions is hustling for my stomach, so be it.

“I would rather be a beggar amongst my people than denigrate it to live as a king amongst foreigners.”
