The Senate Presidency cannot go to SE, we are not talking about the presidency – Wike
The Nations papers reports that when discussing the zoning of the senate presidency, Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, said in a statement released on Tuesday and signed by Wike’s media assistant, Kelvin Ebiri, that it should be zoned to the south south and not the south east.
We have finished discussing the senate presidency, according to Wike. Wike made the claim that the south east has produced more than seven senate presidents whereas the south south has only produced one senate president while discussing why the senate presidency should be assigned to the south south. The declaration reads:
“Everyone knows my position, and there is something going on in this country right now regarding the Senate presidency and the House leadership,” he declared. In my opinion, the South-South should receive the Senate presidency. We have finished discussing the country’s presidency at this time.
“If you concur that the (Senate) presidency should go to the South, where should it go, exactly? Southwest cannot be the location. Southeast cannot be the location. Joseph Wayas, the first Senate president from the Deep South, was only one. More than seven have come out of Southeast.
