Governor of Kwara State and Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has charged Nigerians to recommit to the ideals of democracy and join efforts to build a strong country through patriotism and collective responsibility.
This, he explained, is the best way to honour the heroes of democracy and sustain the gains of the era.
The governor stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, in Ilorin on Monday to commemorate the June 12 Democracy Day.
Abdulrazaq urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda to strengthen democracy and consolidate on the gains of the past years in the era of collective security, infrastructural development and public welfare.
He congratulated Nigerians on the 30th anniversary of the June 12,1993 presidential election, describing it as a watershed event that birthed the current democratic dispensation
