“Tinubu Did Not Beg Me; He Promised Me Something For Stepping Down But I Won’t Reveal It” -Hon Soli

A Katsina state’s House of Representatives member, Honorable Sada Soli, who stepped down in the last speakership contest, has revealed the conversation he had with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before agreeing to step down.
Honorable Sada Soli said, “first thing you should know is that there are dynamics in politics and one of the dynamics was what happened before the speakership contest. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not actually beg me. He only made me see reasons as to why I should step down. He promised me something (for stepping down) but I don’t think it is okay to reveal that here.” He added, “President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is someone who sees politics as a give and take game.”
Speaking further, Honorable Sada Soli said, “after President Tinubu’s appeal, as a background parliamentarian who respects elders, I yielded to his request to it. His plea was on behalf of our party and the country at large.”
Lastly, Honorable Sada Soli said, “I actually applaud the open-door policy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima. They played politics with dignity and respect to someone’s right to aspire for a position. I actually see Tinubu as someone who is honest and passionate about the country.”
