Transfer: Fernando Morientes tells Real Madrid who to sign as Benzema’s replacement

Former Spain international, Fernando Moriente has urged Real Madrid to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane to replace Karim Benzema at the club this summer.
Benzema announced he would be leaving Real Madrid this summer as a free agent after fourteen years at the Spanish La Liga giants.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner made 648 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, scoring 354 goals and providing 165 assists.
The Frenchman also won 24 major trophies at Madrid, including five UEFA Champions League titles.
On June 6, Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad announced they would be signing Benzema on a free transfer.
However, Morientes believes Kane can fill Benzema’s void at Madrid, adding that he likes the England captain.
“I like Harry Kane, a lot of people are betting on him, he’d be a good player to take the nine spot [at Real Madrid] for instant performance,” Morientes said (via MARCA).
“I don’t think about the economic aspect, the club will think about the economic side.”
Kane has established himself as one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment.
He scored 32 goals and provided five assists in 49 appearances for Tottenham during the 2022/23 season
