Enugu Governor In Deeper Trouble As NYSC DG Appears Before Enugu Tribunal Over Alleged Fake Discharge Certificate

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, is ready to testify before the Enugu State governorship election petition tribunal as PDP governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has been accused of presenting a fake NYSC certificate to INEC during the 2023 general election.
The NYSC has repeatedly denied that it issued a service certificate to the governor, which was contrary to Mbah’s claim.
Peter Mba might be having a tough time winning the certificate saga he has found himself in with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
This is as the director general of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, is set to appear before the Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to testify on the alleged discharge certificate the governor has presented.
The development was disclosed in a tweet by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) on Thursday morning, June 22.
It will be recalled that the NYSC certificate the PDP governor presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the 2023 general election has become a subject of discussion in the public space after the corps service consistently denied the certificate.
Chris Ekemezie, the lawyer representing the governor at the Tribunal, in one of his interviews on Channels TV, maintained that Mbah has no reason to forge the NYSC certificate and wondered why the corps service denied the certificate it issued, explaining that Mbah was camped in Lagos and had his primary place of assignment (PPA) at a law firm.
However, he added that the governor deferred his service after six months to go to law school but returned to complete the service.
