Tambuwal was desperate to come to Senate with the ambition of becoming the Senate President- Source

According to a news that was published by the Vanguard paper online this morning, it was reported that some senators that were elected on the platforms of the six opposition political parties, have concluded the arrangements to move against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s bid to deliver Senator Aminu Tambuwal as the next Senate Minority leader.
It was reported that the aggrieved senators, have vowed to resist Aminu Tambuwal’s emergence in the way and manner they fought against the alleged imposition of Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate President.
A Senator, who spoke to Vanguard’s correspondent under the condition of anonymity, as against Tambuwal’s ambition to become the Senate minority leader said that in 2019, Aminu Tambuwal went for a presidential visit to Nyesom Wike but this time around, he could not get Nyesom Wike’s support, and that was why he then Betrayed Wike at the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential primaries.
He said, “This is the record of the politician Atiku wants to foist as minority leader on the party.”
Further talking, he said, “Also, his senatorial election in Sokoto is now being contested. Tambuwal was desperate to come to the Senate with the ambition of becoming the Senate President. He thought he would be rewarded with the position of Senate President. And when it emerged that the Peoples Democratic Party, did not get majority and with the defeat of Atiku Abubakar and Okowa at the presidential election, Atiku and the PDP then changed their plan to make him (Tambuwal) minority leader to compensate him.”
