Orji Kalu joins “Threads” becomes first 10th NASS Lawmaker to sign on newly launched social platform
Former two time Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has joined the recently launched social media network ” Threads”.
Thread which is owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s instagram was launched on Thursday and immediate former Chief Whip of the Senate has joined with his verified personal handle “oukgram”.
With this development Kalu becomes the first among members of the 10th National Assembly to join the newly launched social media application.
Making his presence known on the platform the Forbes rated billionaire entrepreneur cum Politician wrote” Humbly signing in here as the first Among the 10th NASS to”Thread “… More room for legislative engagements … #OUK #OrjiUzorKalu”.
Senator Kalu, known for his constant political and social engagement on his media handles garnered over a 100 followers minutes after becoming a member of the application.
On the occasion of the launch of a new social media app, Threads, by Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, some Nigerian celebrities and influencers are now migrating to the platform.
More than 10 million people have signed up for Threads, Meta’s rival to Twitter, within the first few hours of its launch, the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Thursday.
The app went live on Apple and Android app stores in 100 countries at 2300 GMT on Wednesday and will run with no ads for now.
Nigerian musicians including Adekunle Gold, Blaqbonez, Chike, Sean Tizzle, Maleek Berry, YCEE, Dremo, Bayani and Darey Art Alade have joined the app said to rival Twitter.Others include Nollywood stars Alexx Ekubo, Beverly Naya, Ruth Kadiri and Ronke Odusanya.
Skitmakers Mr Macaroni, Crazeclown and TV host, Ebuka have also joined the platform
Others on the app include film producers Pheelz and Samklef; social media influencers Tunde Ednut and Linda Ikeji; health influencer Aproko Doctor.
