Mulan Star, Coco Lee, Dies At 48
Hong Kong singer-songwriter Coco Lee has died. She died, Wednesday, after a failed suicide attempt over the weekend.
A Facebook post by Lee’s sisters confirming her death read thus; “With great sadness, we are here to break the most devastating news: Coco had been suffering from depression for a few years but her condition deteriorated drastically over the last few months.
“Although Coco sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her.”
Lee was the first Chinese singer signed by Sony Music globally. She also was the voice behind the heroine Fa Mulan in the Mandarin version of Disney’s Mulan where she also sang the theme song.
