PAP: Calls for Ndiomu’s removal sponsored by those who want Niger Delta to remain stagnant – Ex-militant leaders

Prominent former militant leaders in the Niger Delta have described as laughable and mischievous renewed calls for the removal of the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Maj-Gen Barry Ndiomu (retd).
The ex-militant leaders under the aegis of Refined Niger Delta Former Warlords, in a statement on Tuesday, dismissed the allegation of misappropriation of funds levelled against Ndiomu by some groups operating under a pseudonym coalition.
In the statement signed by ‘General’ Goodboy Enewari, Spokesman of the
Refined Niger Delta Former Warlords, the group, noted that the faceless coalition and their sponsors are soaked in complete ignorance to have also alleged that the tenure of Ndiomu had elapsed.
The group stated that PAP is not like other government agencies and parastatals that is tenure based but purely on appointment that is subject to renewal by the President.
The former warlords stated that since his appointment, Ndiomu has maintained a high level of accountability and probity which is why the PAP under him could muster the courage to float the laudable Cooperative Scheme for ex-agitators.
They maintained that with his experience and track record of public performance, the PAP boss will continue to improve on the programme for the benefit of all ex-agitators and stakeholders.
While calling on people of the Niger Delta to ignore calls for his removal, they also insisted that only those who want Niger Delta to remain stagnant are against Ndiomu and will not succeed “because the collective interest of our region is what he is pursuing”, they declared.
