Gov Radda send 4 executive bills to Katsina House Assembly
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has forwarded four Executive Bills to the Katsina State House of Assembly.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday said “the bills and amendments are in line with Governor Radda’s unwavering commitment to advancing the state’s development and creating a conducive environment for growth and progress.”
According to the Katsina Governor, the four bills will proactively address crucial issues such as security, development management, land administration, and revenue generation.
Radda urges the Katsina State House of Assembly to give expeditious consideration to the proposed bills, in line with the aspirations of the people of Katsina State for a brighter and more secure future.
Kaula in the statement said: “the proposals already have garnered widespread support from various stakeholders, including community leaders, industry experts, and citizens, who recognize the positive impact these initiatives will have on the state’s socio-economic landscape.”
The four Executive Bills and amendments proposed by Governor Radda are as follows:
1. A bill to establish the Katsina Community Watch Corps: This bill aims to enhance the security and safety of communities across Katsina State by establishing a vigilant and community-oriented watch corps. The proposed corps will collaborate with existing security agencies to bolster efforts in combating crime and ensuring peace and stability in the state.
2. A bill to establish Katsina Development Management Board: Focused on promoting efficient development planning and implementation, this bill seeks to create the Katsina Development Management Board. The board will play a critical role in coordinating developmental projects and initiatives, fostering collaboration between various stakeholders, and ensuring optimal resource allocation for sustainable growth.
3. A bill to establish Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS): To modernize land administration and facilitate investment in real estate, the Katsina State Geographic Information System (KATGIS) will be established. The bill aims to introduce an efficient and digitized land information system that streamlines land ownership processes and encourages responsible land use.
4. A bill to amend the Katsina State Revenue Administration (Codification and Consolidation 2021): To strengthen the financial framework of Katsina State and ensure transparent and effective revenue administration, Governor Radda has proposed amendments to the Katsina State Revenue Administration. The bill seeks to enhance revenue collection systems, optimize tax compliance, and improve accountability in financial matters.
