Teenagers arrested for stealing baby

The Police in Bauchi State have arrested two teenagers for allegedly stealing a baby girl.
The suspects, Hajara Usman, 19, and Ibrahim Usman, 18, were said to have intruded into the apartment of a woman who was recently delivered of a baby and took the child away.
The police, it was learnt, got wind of the abduction when the baby’s grandfather, Adamu Baka, 55, reported the incident at Akuyam outstation on Tuesday.
A statement yesterday by spokesman for the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said a team of detectives were mobilsed to immediately look for the suspects and the baby.
He said they swung into action and got the teenagers arrested, adding that the baby was swiftly recovered from them.
He said investigation was ongoing to unravel the hidden motives behind the act, adding that the suspects would be profiled and charged to court at the end of the investigation.
