Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja on Thursday, August 24.
TrackNews Media reports that the meeting between the two leaders comes amid reports that Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party have begun discussions about a potential merger.
The three political leaders have reportedly been meeting for several weeks, starting with a meeting between Atiku and Kwankwaso.
This publication reports that after the first meeting was successful, Obi was brought into the discussions.
