UPDATE; Tajudeen Baruwa Sworn In As National President Of NURTW, Vows To Support Tinubu’s Economic Agenda.

Tajudeen Baruwa has officially taken the oath of office as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The inauguration of Baruwa and the rest of the executive members occurred during the 10th National Quadrennial Delegate Conference of the Union, held on Thursday in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State.
During his inaugural address, Baruwa expressed the union’s commitment under his leadership to actively support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in its efforts to enhance the country’s economic conditions
He emphasized that the NURTW, under his guidance, will prioritize the safety of travelers and their belongings, and that its members will exhibit responsible conduct nationwide.
The Chairman of NURTW asserted that through the transportation sector, the union aims to contribute to the federal government’s initiatives aimed at achieving economic recovery.
He stated, “NURTW members will closely collaborate with the president through the transportation sector to foster economic improvement in the country, addressing the concerns of Nigerians regardless of their geographical locations.”
Baruwa highlighted that the ongoing conference assessed President Tinubu’s administration, and despite its relatively short duration in office, the delegates expressed contentment with the initial steps taken to rejuvenate the nation’s economy for the greater welfare of the populace.
Consequently, the union pledged its full endorsement of the administration’s policies and programs, with the belief that their transparent implementation will alleviate the challenges faced by the general public.
As part of his leadership agenda, the NURTW President affirmed the union’s intent to enhance collaboration with law enforcement agencies, particularly the police, to ensure the observance of law and order within transportation hubs and terminals across the country.
Baruwa also stressed the importance of engaging other stakeholders to enhance the overall quality of the country’s transportation sector.
Furthermore, Baruwa extended his appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for creating an enabling environment that facilitated the union’s conference.
