Labour Minister, Lalong Returned As Senator As Tribunal Edges Out PDP
In a dramatic development, the election of Senator Napoleon Bali of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as the representative of the Plateau South Senatorial District has been nullified and his All Progressives Congress, APC rival, Simon Lalong returned as the winner of the election.
The tribunal declared the outcome in its judgment read out on Monday afternoon.
Lalong who is the immediate past governor of Plateau State and was director-general of the Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Committee has since been inaugurated as minister of labour. Should Senator Bali pursue his case to the Court of Appeal and lose, Lalong will face the option of either taking the Senate seat or relinquishing his position in the federal cabinet
