Nigeria’s Rugby team out of Paris 2024 Olympics race

The Nigeria Rugby national team, Black Stallions, has been eliminated from the Paris 2024 Olympics after finishing in eighth position at the Africa Cup 7s qualifier held in Zimbabwe.
Nigeria was grouped alongside Kenya, Namibia and Zambia in pool B of the tournament, which had 20 teams competing.
The Coach Steve Lewis tutored side was defeated 27- 0 by South Africa in the quarterfinal of the tournament.
They also lost to 29-13 to Zambia in the 5th place event. They were also beaten by Madagascar in the 7th place game to end up in the 8th position at the championship.
The winner of the Zimbabwe 2023 Africa Rugby 7s Olympics qualifier, Kenya, has booked the automatic ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The second and third place teams in the African qualifier, South Africa and Uganda, will join the second and third place teams from Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and South America to compete at Paris 2024 Olympics qualification round slated for June 2024 to earn the final slot for the Olympics.
