Niger Delta Youths Protest Corruption in Judiciary, condemn conflicting judgments

Piqued by alleged corruption going on in the judiciary, youths in the Niger Delta region have staged a peaceful protest against the judiciary for delivering conflicting judgments in some parts of the country, which is causing chaos.

Recall that political observers in Rivers State have blamed the growing political crisis in the state on conflicting orders issued by judges in different courts.

The protesters said that things will get worse in the system if nothing is done to address this anomaly. He stressed the need for all Nigerians to join voices and continue to raise the alarm on the increasing level of corruption and compromise going on in the justice system.

The protesters said that they have lost trust and hope in the country’s justice system.

“The judiciary was seen as the last hope of the common man,” but this is no longer seen among the judges; there is compromise,” they stated.
Speaking, one of the conveners on the protest, Brian Kroma Sagbe, said the aim of the protest was to make it known that Nigerians are tired of the rascality, and the delivery of conflicting judgements in the judiciary.

The protesters displayed placards with various inscriptions, such as “Say no to corruption,” “give the common man hope,” “protect the peoples mandate,” “believe Nigeria would work,” among others.

Other speakers at the protest equally called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene before things got out of hand.
