… As Lokpobiri commits to Atala oil field return to Bayelsa
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has once again, congratulated the Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources(Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, stating that his appointment is well deserved.
Governor Diri made the statement when the minister paid him a New Year visit in Government House, Yenagoa.
While thanking president Bola Tinubu for appointing a worthy son of Bayelsa to oversee the petroleum ministry, Governor Diri assured the president of collaboration with the Federal Government to make life better for the people.
“As you have come today, we have to break party barriers. Political parties are for elections, and elections have come and gone, so, we have to give leadership. We are prepared to collaborate with the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government. We will partner with him, and with you representing us at the federal level, so that we can make life better for our people,” Governor Diri stated.
Earlier in his speech, the Minister of State Petroleum (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, had congratulated Governor Diri on his recent electoral victory and that his ministry is “ready to work closely with the State Government in the interest of our people.”
He assured the Governor that the State-owned prized Atala oil field allegedly taken away would be returned to Bayelsa State.
