Gov. Fintiri of Adamawa State prohibits the transportation of construction materials to Cameroon
The transportation of construction supplies to border communities in neighboring countries has been prohibited by the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The Governor, through a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, expressed that this action has been a factor in the increase of building material prices within the state.
In a bid to curb the excessive movement of construction materials to neighboring countries, he has urged all security agencies stationed in border communities to step up their surveillance efforts. Their primary focus should be on preventing trucks from engaging in mass transportation of these materials.
Mr. Fintiri issued a warning, stating that the government will promptly seize vehicles transporting such items across the border and take legal action against anyone found guilty.
