Ijaw National Congress Mediates Swali Community Dispute, Forms Committee

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has waded into the internal crisis of Swali Community among families and individuals to ensure peace is birthed in the community with the constitution of a committee to its effect on Friday. 

The committee which was constituted during a zoom meeting, headed by the INC Vice President 2, Chief Nengi James-Eriworio also has the mandate to relsove all crisis between the community and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). 

INC President, Professor Benjamin Okaba, said the INC was wading into the crisis because they cannot afford to have the headquarters of the Board relocated from the Ijaw land, haven been in the fore front calling for the relocation of oil companies to the region.

Also inaugurated are the committee on the compliance monitoring of the Oloibiri Museum and Research Centre Project and the committee to reconcile Senator Heneiken Lokpobiri and Engr. Simbi Wabote, whom they described as illustrious sons of Ijaw nation and should not be at loggerheads.  

Chairman, Oloibiri Museum and Research Centre Project Committee who doubles as Secretary of INC and Chairman of the Swali/NCDMB Crisis Committee, Chief Nengi James-Eriworio, expressed readiness to deliver on their assignments. 

Prof. Benjamin Okaba, expressed confidence on the chairmen of the committees to deliver on their assignments on record to allow the National Executive Council of INC fine-tune the issues to a reasonable conclusion for the Ijaw nation.

Our correspondent reports that the Senator Heneiken Lokpobiri and Engr. Simbi Wabote Reconciliation Committee has the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo as chairman.
