Trace in the City talent hunt winner gets new car
Trace in the City talent hunt winner, Micy D, has been rewarded with a brand new Suzuki S-PRESSO by the organisers.
Micy D, an Agriculture graduate from the University of Abuja, triumphed over other contestants during the four-week Trace in the City tour.
Fondly known as ‘Abuja boy,’ Micy D received a brand new car, courtesy of Suzuki by CFAO and Trace, along with a recording session with Grammy-winning producer KEL-P and additional promotional packages from Trace.
At the presentation ceremony, Sam Onyemelukwe, MD of Trace Anglophone West Africa, congratulated Micy D and outlined Trace’s support for the young artist.
“He will record three tracks with Kel P, and we will select the best one, or more if they all meet our standards,” said Onyemelukwe.
Additionally, we will shoot one music video for him and possibly more, airing it across the Trace network, including 15 TV channels in Africa and 14 outside, reaching eighty million active viewers. We are also organizing promotions on TikTok.”
Onyemelukwe added: “The Orchard has a mentoring team, and we are surrounding him with experienced artists like Kel P and DJ Neptune.”
Aissatou Diouf, General Manager of CFAO Suzuki, said, “I am thrilled that this project has come to fruition. The collaboration with Trace has been fantastic. Congratulations to the winner.”
Micy D expressed his gratitude, saying: “I am very grateful and honored to be here. I’ve been working hard, and God sees my efforts. Big shoutout to Trace and the sponsors. I am ready to give my best now that the opportunity is here.”
The 2023 city tour marked the third consecutive year of Trace’s campus tour invasion, visiting cities such as Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo, Akure, Ibadan, Abuja, and Lagos.
The tour aims to empower, entertain, and educate thousands of university students, embodying Trace’s mission.
