APC Chieftain Slams NDDC and Niger Delta Ministry for Corruption and Neglect
In a scathing statement, Chief Michael Johnny, a prominent Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has condemned the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Niger Delta Ministry, accusing them of exacerbating the suffering of the people in the region.
Chief Johnny expressed his deep disappointment, labeling the entities as among the worst things that have happened to the Niger Delta.
Chief Johnny did not mince words, asserting that both the NDDC and the Niger Delta Ministry are plagued by corruption and mismanagement.

“They add to the suffering of the Niger Delta people,” he stated emphatically, “very corrupt systems operated by corrupt people.”
This critique comes at a time when the Niger Delta region continues to grapple with numerous socio-economic challenges, despite the substantial resources allocated for its development.
Chief Johnny’s remarks highlight the frustration and disillusionment felt by many in the region who believe that the institutions meant to facilitate development have instead become hotbeds of corruption.
The NDDC and the Niger Delta Ministry were established with the mandate to drive infrastructure development and improve the living conditions of the Niger Delta communities. However, allegations of corruption, inefficiency, and lack of accountability have frequently marred their operations.
