Police Nabs man for brutalising four-year-old son in Ekiti
Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a man, Kunle Ogunnusi, for allegedly inflicting serious injuries on his four-year-old son in the name of corrective measures.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, the suspect was arrested following a credible tip-off by residents of his community at Rose Bud Area, Oke-Ila, Ado-Ekiti,
The statement disclosed that during interrogation, the suspect confessed the crime, saying his action was out of provocation over his son’s misbehaviour.
According to Abutu, further investigation revealed that the suspect has always been in the habit of abusing his child by beating him with dangerous objects and inflicting injuries on him at any slight provocation.
Abutu said that the Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, urged members of the public to always alert the force of heinous happenings around them.
He said the suspect would be arraigned in court after the completion of investigation.
