“A landmark triumph for Bayelsa,” says an elated Turnah as he congratulates Diri

Prominent Bayelsa politician, Barr. Alabh George Turnah (MON), has felicitated the Bayelsa State Governor, Sen. Douye Diri and his Deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ehwrudjakpo, following today’s Supreme Court ruling which affirmed their 2023 electoral victory.
Turnah, who is the South-South Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that the judgement has decisively upheld the earlier declaration of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“The judgement of the Supreme Court is a testament to the clear and overwhelming support of Bayelsans for the Governor’s administration,” Turnah said through a statement by his media aide, Mr. Egbo Kelvin Loveday.
According to the statement, “the seamless validation of Governor Diri’s victory from the Tribunal to the Court of Appeal, culminating in the Supreme Court’s ruling, demonstrates the unambiguous mandate given by the electorate.
“This affirmation stands as a powerful endorsement of the Governor’s leadership and the Prosperity Agenda.”
Turnah urged Bayelsa stakeholders, including the opposition, to close ranks and support the Diri-led Prosperity Administration, adding that it would cause unhindered development in the state.
“This call for unity,” Turnah reiterates, “is aimed at fostering an environment of collaboration and shared vision for the state’s advancement.
While maintaining that the impact of the prosperity administration is visible across various sectors of the state, Turnah commended Governor Diri for his unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
He therefore admonished well-meaning Bayelsans to continue their support and engagement with the administration’s initiatives.
Turnah expressed firm belief in Diri’s leadership and reaffirmed his confidence in the grace of God upon the Governor’s life.
“I have no doubt that His Excellency will remain steadfast in his mission to bring about significant and positive change for the people of Bayelsa.
“As the Prosperity Champion continues his second tenure, I fervently pray for an abundance of wisdom and guidance upon him just as I am certain that Governor Diri will achieve the enviable heights he envisions for Bayelsa,” Turnah concluded.
