A man named Courage Ikpaka has been sentenced to two years in prison for impersonating the well-known Nigerian singer Flavour in a scam that defrauded a U.S. citizen of $53,000.

The Federal High Court in Lagos delivered the sentence after Ikpaka admitted to the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ikpaka deceived his victim, Mrs. Yvelte M. Thompson, by promising to organize shows in the United States and receiving payments through Bitcoin wallets. The EFCC’s investigation revealed that Ikpaka had created fake social media profiles and email accounts to carry out the scam.
