Gov. Mohammed to Wike: We have enough water to quench your fire
The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has told the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that he has enough water to put out the fire the former Rivers State governor vowed to put in states not supporting him.
The Eagle Online recalls that Wike had vowed to put fire in the states backing Siminalayi Fubara, his successor as Rivers State governor.
Wike and Fubara have been at loggerheads over the control of the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State.
While the governors elected on the platform of the party are backing Fubara, the National Working Committee handed over the leadership of the PDP in Rivers State to Wike.
Speaking on Tuesday before a meeting with the National Working Committee of the party in Bauchi State, Mohammed, who is the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, said: “Nobody can put fire in Bauchi State.
“Bauchi has volumes of water.
“Even my friend that is saying that he is saying that because he is annoyed.
“Maybe I had said something that annoyed him.
“But it is not personal.
“My friend is my friend, my job is my job and leadership is leadership.”
On the internal crisis rocking the PDP, Mohammed said: “None of the parties are insulated from crises here and there and that is why leadership is there.
“If we have a quarrel, it is not personal.
“Nobody should misunderstand us.
“We are together.”
The Legal Adviser of the PDP, Kamaludeen Ajibade (SAN), who led the delegation to Bauchi, said: “The purpose of the visit is to identify with the governor and salute his courage as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
“A lot of things have been going on in our party and we cannot pretend that all is going on well.”
