Chelsea face £50,000 fine with two key suspensions ahead of Liverpool clash
Chelsea are set to face a £50,000 fine after receiving six yellow cards in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
This marks the second time this season they have been penalized for poor discipline.
In addition to the fine, defenders Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana will miss Chelsea’s upcoming fixture against Liverpool due to suspensions.
The duo picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season during the match.
The sizzling contest at Stamford Bridge saw tensions escalate, resulting in a mass brawl late in the game.
However, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca remains unfazed by his team’s disciplinary issues, praising their fighting spirit.
“I like the team, the way they’re fighting. I like the way they are becoming a team. I don’t see any problems with that.”
Despite the setback of losing two key defenders, Maresca expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to handle the situation as they prepare for a challenging trip to Liverpool in 13 days.
