Gov. Diri’s Aide Condemns Vandalization Of Transmission Tower Line

***Commends Zone 16 Police Operatives For Arresting Suspects For The Vandalization Of 132KV Transmission Tower Line.

The Technical assistant on General duties to Governor Douye Diri Mr. Ogidi Ben Bara has commended the Nigeria police force Zone 16 for the arrest of suspected vandals of the State transmission tower line, which is responsible for the absence of electricity supply in the State.

Sequel to the Petition to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16 headquarters, Yenagoa by the Honourable Commissioner of Power, Hon (Engr) Kharin Akari Komuko ‘m’ On behalf of Bayelsa State Government, Operatives of the Surveillance and Intelligence section under the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, Zone 16 headquarters, Yenagoa on September 11, 2024 arrested Fourteen (14) suspects, Who were all involved in the vandalization of 132 KV Transmission Tower Line along the Ahoada-Mbiama axis of the east west road and igbogene axis in Rivers State and Bayelsa State respectively.

Mr. Ogidi Ben Bara frowned at the trend of Non indigene’s vandalizing critical National infrastructures in the state, which is meant to serve Bayelsans. The Governor’s aide while highlighting the economic setbacks the absence of electricity supply in the state has caused, admonished the Police to ensure the perpetrators of the criminal act face the full wrath of the law.

Mr. Ogidi Ben Bara further called on the entire leadership of the Non indigene community in the state to counsell their sons and daughters to be law abiding and desist from acts that will undermine the developmental effort of the prosperity administration, this he said is connected to the list of suspected vandals of the transmission tower line published by the Nigeria police force zone 16 wherein the 14 person’s are not Bayelsans.

He notes that Governor Douye Diri has successfully stabilized the state with his peaceful disposition and any act of criminality by non-indigene’s will to stall the development process of the prosperity administration will not be accepted.

The Technical assistant on General Duties to senator Douye Diri, Mr. Ogidi Ben Bara appreciated his principal, the state helmsman Douye Diri for painstakingly rehabilitating the damaged transmission tower line and who has also resolved to build an independent power plant to salvage the state from the mercy of the Port Harcourt electricity distribution company, thereby ensuring relatively stable power supply in the state. Which in turn will boost the local economy and engender SME’s and industrialization.

Recall that, In the course of diligent and painstaking investigation by the Nigeria police force zone 16 Yenagoa, 35mm Floor Core armoured Cables, 70mm floor core armoured Cables, 50mm SLPE Cables, Electrical pot installator, wheel spanners, cutting blades, long botts, eleven KV poles, recline cables, earth cables, bee copper and other items were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
