DISMISSAL CONUNDRUM: There Is Definitely a Breach Of Communication; Issue To Be Resolved Soon. ~Ayebakuro Igbeta Esq

My attention has just been drawn to a Facebook post gone viral wherein some members of staff of the Federal University, Otuoke were said to have been dismissed from service on various grounds. While I consider the said post in itself unfortunate and totally unnecessary, I have to put up these comments to get the records straight because my name has been dragged into the saga.

Mr. Doupere had published on the blue app a list of persons purportedly dismissed by the university authority, it still remains a mystery to me how Doupere came by the said list particularly with my name in it. No doubt I served within the ranks of the Federal University, Otuoke until some years back, when I tendered my application for study leave and subsequent resignation to enable me further my academic career, (it may be unethical but for the avoidance of doubt I have to attach the copy of that resignation letter in the coming days which indeed predates the said dismissal notice, for public view), it therefore boggles my mind how the purported dismissal notice got published on Facebook carrying my name.

That been said, and even though due to (possible) administrative failure and breach of proper communication channel my resignation letter had failed to get to the Governing Council of the Federal University, Otuoke before the cited 22nd adjourned meeting, I still wonder Doupere’s source of information as I am yet to receive any such notice.

Furthermore, I consider as totally disrespectful and a desecration of the exalted academic institution to have drawn it’s internal processes to social media ridicule which the entire post represents, the name calling and abuse of the person of the Vice Chancellor and other eminent persons of the Council and School authority is totally unacceptable under any fashion. If Doupere is dissatisfied with the decision of Council there are available administrative processes open to aggrieved persons whom may want to seeks redress including the option of appeal and redress through the Conventional Courts system(in the worst case scenario), it is therefore very inappropriate for anyone to have come online without exhausting these available channels of redress, in my opinion to ridicule most of us on social media space by displaying a confidential document of that nature, thereby giving people the room to drag the Institution on Facebook, hence owing it an apology as facts must be gathered right in any claim to justice.
