Two Armed Robbers Arrested by Police In Gombe

Police officers in Gombe State have arrested two armed robbery suspects – Abubakar Musa (22) and Usman Ismail (20) – both residents of Nasarawo Quarters.
They were arrested for their alleged involvement in a criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, revealed that the suspects reportedly attacked four individuals—Abdullahi Umar (26), Aliyu Usman (23), Umar Sulaiman (24), and Haruna Muhammad (16)— all of BCGA Quarters in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Abdullahi stated that the incident occurred on November 23, 2024, at around 8:00 pm in Hayin Kwarin Misau Quarters, behind Bago Primary School, as the victims were returning home from their workplaces.
He stated that the suspects, armed with a machete, knife, and stick, allegedly dispossessed the victims of valuables, including one Tecno Camon A31 smartphone, valued at N50,000, one keypad phone, valued at N6,500, one Honor model 360 smartphone, valued at N250,000, and one Itel Soft Touch phone, valued at N207,000.
The PPRO added that upon receiving the complaint on November 25, at approximately 4:24 pm, operatives of Operation Hattara launched a swift response and apprehended the suspects.
“On the receipt of the complaint, teams of Policemen from Operation Hattara swung into action and rushed to the scene and the above-mentioned suspects were arrested in connection to the alleged crime.
“However, during the course of investigation the said suspects admitted and confessed to the crime, they will soon be charged to court for prosecution,” stated.
Abdullahi revealed that some exhibits were recovered including: one machete, one cutlass, one stick, one knife.
The statement added that the Gombe State Police Command reassured the public of its dedication to combating crime and maintaining peace and security across the state.
