In a significant show of support, thirty-six members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have expressed their unwavering confidence in the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda.
This decisive action comes in the midst of circulating rumors suggesting that she might be considering stepping down from her position. During Monday’s plenary session, Oladipo Ajomale, the representative for the Oshodi-Isolo constituency 2, took the initiative to propose the motion, emphatically reiterating the assembly’s collective trust in Meranda’s ability to lead and manage their legislative affairs efficiently.
The lawmakers present at the session, totaling thirty-six in number, displayed a united front as they unanimously supported the motion, thereby strengthening Meranda’s standing amidst the swirling speculations. This collective endorsement not only highlights the assembly’s solidarity but also underscores their belief in the Speaker’s leadership capabilities.
Subsequent to their demonstration of support, the assembly made the decision to adjourn the plenary meeting without specifying a future date for reconvening, leaving further updates and developments to be revealed in due course.
