Tinubu Appoints New NABTEB Registrar and UBEC Leadership

President Bola Tinubu has approved several key appointments in the education sector, including Dr. Mohammed Aminu as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB). Aminu, who holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, has 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development. Before his new role, he was the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
In addition to Aminu’s appointment, Tinubu has named Idris Olorunnimbe as the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board. Olorunnimbe is recognized for his leadership in youth empowerment and education and is the Group CEO of The Temple Company, which he founded in 2016. His contributions extend across education, entertainment, and sports development.
Other key appointments at UBEC include Rasaq Olajuwon as Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services). Olajuwon previously served as the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency.
President Tinubu has called on the new NABTEB Registrar to apply his expertise to transform the agency, ensuring it effectively assesses and certifies skilled professionals vital to Nigeria’s industrial growth. Similarly, he urged the new UBEC leadership to enhance service delivery and strengthen educational reforms to improve access to quality basic education across the country.
