The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Hannatu Ibrahim, for allegedly stealing $35,000 (N53,495,400) from her employer, a Syrian national named Mohammed Jurdi, and setting his house on fire. The incident took place in the New GRA neighborhood of Gombe.

According to police reports, the suspect worked for Jurdi and had access to his residence. She allegedly took the money and attempted to cover up the crime by setting the house ablaze. Authorities were alerted to the situation, and after an investigation, Ibrahim was taken into custody.

The police stated that the fire caused significant damage to the property. However, it is unclear whether Jurdi or any other occupants sustained injuries during the incident. Law enforcement officers responded promptly and launched an investigation, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
