APC finally writes INEC to replace Buhari’s aide as House of Rep aspirant

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally submitted the name of Alhaji Muktar Ishaq Yakasai as its flag bearer for Municipal federal constituency, Kano.
A letter to that effect which was signed by the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshimhole, and Secretary, Mai Mala Buni, addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), followed an order of a Federal High Court, Kano.
The court had asked the party, which is the second defendant in the suit, to effect the replacement of an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Sha, Aban Ibrahim Sharada with Alhaji Muktar, Ishaq Yakasai in the forthcoming poll.
The letter to INEC according to checks, has doused the growing anxiety in the constituency following the reluctance of the electoral body to make the change days after the court ruling.
INEC in the state had told reporters severally that while it had since de-listed Alhaji Sha Aban Ibrahim on account of the court order, APC as a matter of procedure, is the only body that can initiate the inclusion of the new name.
It would be recalled that on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Saadatu, Ibrahim Mark asked the APC to present Alhaji Muktar, Ishaq as the flag bearer of the party in the Kano Municipal Federal constituency election, having emerged as the winner of the APC primary election held on October 3, 2018.
