Polls: INEC recruits 20,000 ad-hoc staff in Jigawa
Speaking with newsmen, Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state, Dr. Mahmoud Isah, said arrangement had been concluded for the delivery of sensitive materials across the 27 local government areas, of the state after taking them from the custody of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dutse office.
He explained that the sensitive materials would be accompanied by a combined team of security personnel and handed over to electoral officers, adding: “We assured voters that sensitive materials will be ready to avoid delay in casting their votes on the election day.”

The REC stated that the postponement of last Saturday elections had not in any way tampered with their arrangement of financial cost, noting that the only thing the commission did was to ensure that sensitive materials were kept under tight security, that was why they were moved to CBN Dutse for safe keeping.
According to him, the commission has configured card readers and provided 325 extra in case of any technical fault, adding: “We have confidence in our card readers as they are serviced and we have extra in case of any eventuality.”
