Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, has come under criticism following his appointment of Festus Adedayo as special adviser on media and publicity.
Adedayo has reportedly been a staunch critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Supporters of the party expressed their disappointment over the Senate president’s appointment which they believe is a slap on the face of those who supported his candidacy.
Some likened the new Senate president to his predecessor, Bukola Saraki whom they claimed worked against the party when he got the position.
Recall that Senate president, Dr Ahmad Lawan, approved the appointment of Babagana Aji as his chief of staff.
The special adviser to the Senate president on administration, Dr Betty Okoroh, in a statement on Tuesday, June 18 in Abuja, said “the appointment is with immediate effect”,
tracknews.ng gathers that Okoroh said Lawan also appointed Festus Adedayo as his special adviser on media and publicity.
“The appointments were made based on merit, experience, track record and competency of Aji and Adedayo needed by the Senate president in executing his planned legislative agenda,” she said.
