Ukraine recovers the d+ad bodies of another 2 Nigerians f+ghting for Russia without training

The Ukrainian Defence Intelligence (UDI) has confirmed that two Nigerian men, Hamzat Kazeem Kolawole and Mbah Stephen Udoka, were k+lked while serving as Russian mercenaries in Luhansk.

In a statement on Thursday, UDI released photographs of the men in military poses and one family photo. “In the Luhansk region, military intelligence operatives discovered the bodies of two citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hamzat Kazeen Kolawole (03.04.1983) and Mbah Stephen Udoka (07.01.1988),” the agency said.

Both men had joined the Russian Army in the second half of 2025, signing contracts with the 423rd Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of the 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division. Udoka reportedly received no formal training and was deployed to Ukraine just five days after signing his contract.

Records for Kolawole’s training were not preserved, but it is believed he also lacked military preparation. The men were k+lled in late November while attempting to storm Ukrainian positions. According to UDI, they “never engaged in a f+refight” and were eliminated by a drone strike.

Kolawole leaves behind a wife and three children in Nigeria. UDI used the incident to issue a stark warning to foreign citizens: “traveling to Russia carries the risk of being forced into dangerous combat units, potentially ending up dead on Ukrainian soil.”
