Enugu: Ugwuanyi signs state’s Security Trust Fund bill into law

TRACKING_____Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has signed into law the Enugu State Security Trust Fund bill recently passed by the State Assembly, stating that it will “strengthen our commitment to provide security in the state and ensure there is private sector participation, in a transparent mode”.

This was confirmed by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, when he briefed newsmen after the meeting of the State Executive Council (EXCO).

The information commissioner also stated that the council has directed all owners of public buildings in the state to install CCTV cameras within six months to further enhance the security architecture of the state.

According to him, the governor also approved intervention funds for infrastructural development in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka and Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu.

He said the approvals were in continuation of the efforts of the state government to advance development and increase the level of partnership with private and faith-based organisations, towards enhancing good governance in the state.
