Turnah Thanks Leaders as Bayelsa PDP Congress Concludes Successfully

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, has expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders for their roles in the successful conduct of the party’s 2026 state congress.

In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday, Turnah commended the leadership of the party at the national level and across the South-South region for their support, guidance, and commitment to strengthening the party’s structure in the state.

He particularly acknowledged the contributions of Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and a national leader of the party, whose leadership and support he described as instrumental to the smooth conduct of the congress.

Turnah also extended gratitude to the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mohammed Abdulrahman, as well as the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, for their continued commitment to the unity and growth of the party.

PDP Progress and Participation in Bayelsa

In addition, the state chairman thanked Dan Osi Orbih, the party’s National Vice Chairman (South South), and Mao Ohuabunwa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for their leadership roles and support throughout the congress process.

Turnah equally appreciated the delegates who participated in the congress, as well as party leaders and stakeholders across Bayelsa State, noting that their cooperation and commitment helped ensure a peaceful and successful exercise.

He further commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for their professionalism and cooperation during the congress.

According to him, their presence and dedication contributed significantly to maintaining order and transparency throughout the process.

Turnah reaffirmed that the success of the congress demonstrates the unity and strength of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

He also called on members to remain committed to the ideals of the party and continue working together to build a stronger political platform for the future.

“The continued support and dedication of our members and leaders are vital to the progress of our party,” he said, adding that collective efforts will help position the PDP for greater achievements in the state.

The statement concluded with a message of solidarity among party members, with the chairman reiterating the party’s slogan: “PDP… Power to the People.”
